We’ve had an invitation from the organisers of the Islay Festival, which takes place around 2/3 August. The website is here: http://www.spanglefish.com/IslayFestivaloftheSea/
There are no ferry sailings from Oban that suit, but we could go from Kennacraig, leaving Friday 2 August at 09.45 and return from Port Ellen at 09.45 on Monday 5 August.
They are trying to get discounts out of CalMac ferries, but the full cost for a car, trailer and five passengers would seem to be £218 return.
We’ve also had an invitation to the Dalriada festival at Glenarm in Northern Ireland with races on 20 July. The event actually runs for the week 13 to 20th. The ferry is free for a car, trailer and five passengers as P&O are sponsors. However it’s just after the Worlds, involves a lot of mileage and there are entry fees for the races.
